HAPPY NEWS:
I recently won a signed arc of May B by Caroline Starr Rose on Terry Lynn Johnson's blog and a copy of Sh*t My Dad Says on Medeia Sharif's blog. I can't wait to get started on both of them!

Right now I'm reading TickTock by Dean Koontz. Sometimes I'm just in the mood for horror, and you can't go wrong with Koontz.
HOW MY WRITING'S GOING:
I'm sorry I didn't post last week - I ended up taking an unexpected break to finish up a project. I promised I'd tell you how I did finishing the rough draft of my wip the week before, and I did it. I didn't even have to totally neglect the treadmill - bonus!

ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Susan! Great book wins! My dad always likes to say funny things on my facebook posts and then write "Sh&t my Dad Says". :)
ReplyDeleteI used to only read Stephen King books from college til I had kids. Now I hardly ever do!
WOW, congrats on the cool award and thanks so much for sharing with us!
ReplyDeleteI heard "May B" is really good. Enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteHi Susan, Congrats! I have been reading more "how to" stuff lately ;D
ReplyDeleteHorror may just do the trick...
Wonderful to pass on the award, it is a great list!
Congrats on finishing the WIP, rough draft. It is these milestones that keep us on target.
I have to be in the mood for horror! We are having a birthday soon, Zombies will be involved...so I'm gearing up~
Congrats! Well done you:)
ReplyDeleteCongrats to you for your award!! You ARE a great commenter. Congrats on your ARC wins too, woo! Oh my gosh--I've read TICK TOCK, and I don't even read many adult books. I really liked that book. Tense, exciting! He's a good writer, yep.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on finishing up your project! I'm working on a couple things right now and it's going well. I don't read horror because I'm a wimp! Don't believe me? I think Jurassic Park is scary and that's not even a horror novel. When I read that late at night I thought dinosaurs were going to come charging into my room and eat me up, LoL.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on winning those books. :) No0thing better than getting a book in the mail...for free.
ReplyDeleteI was inspired to buy several books this week, based on what I had read on blogs about them.
Thanks for considering me a good commentor.
I've been diligently working on my mg novel. I'm getting about a thousand words a day. Today is going to be a hard chapter to write. The children are being evacuated from London on the train and they have to leave their parents. I expect I'll be emotionally spent after I finish it.
Happy Writing, my friend!
I LOVE Koontz and I have his latest on my TBR pile! Have you ever read Peter Straub's GHOST STORY? I highly recommend it if you haven't.
ReplyDeleteAnd thank you for the award. :)
Congratulations on winning the award and those books. Fun! I just finished working on book II of my Battle for Souls series and sent it to my crit partner. Ugh, we'll see how it is when it is returned.
ReplyDeleteCongrads on your award and winning the books (free books=awesome). Yay you!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you for considering me a great commenter. *bragging rights* :-) That is an honor, pal.
I like Stephen King and Amaleen Ison. But Koontz is awesome too.
I bet you are glad to get the project finished. I am trying to finish a short story about my son Christopher that I am submitting for an anthology. And my MG and a few picture books. Yikes! I sound busy. No wonder I'm tired. zzzzzzz
(((hugs)))
Aw, thanks so much for passing on the award.
ReplyDeleteSometimes you can go wrong with Koontz. I recently read one of his which was terrible.
And yeah, I've been neglecting the treadmill a little too much lately ;)
Congrats on the books! I love MAY B!
ReplyDeleteI won two blog contests last week, so I felt super lucky! I won an awesome prize package at Stephanie Thornton's and a book at Amy Sonnichsen's! My kids told me to play the lottery. Maybe I should have... Is it too late?!

Aw, thanks for the award, Susan! :)
ReplyDeleteI won a Garbage Pail Kids card pack from Janet Johnson. SO EXCITED. :)

ReplyDeleteCool, sounds like you've got lots of great stuff to read now:)
ReplyDeleteI haven't read Koontz in a lonnnggg time but I still remember two of his books vividly! The perfect kind of book to read on an airplane. Oh wait, horror? Maybe not.
ReplyDeleteI am reading Prodigal Summer by Barbara Kingsolver...It's really good.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on winning a couple of good books. The Sh** my dad says is pretty funny.

ReplyDeleteAs for what I'm working on. I just finished the edits to my new book and sent them off to my editor. So now I need to dive into my next book, another romantic suspense. I've been resisting but the characters are calling. ;)
Thanks for the links.
I'm not really a horror fan, but I adore Dean Kootz's books. Strange? Congrats on your award and to those you passed it onto. We need good commenters.
ReplyDeleteDenise
Congrats for the award, and the books! : D
ReplyDeleteHaven't won any blog contests yet, but I'm a horror fan too! *waves hand in the best nerdy manner*. My favorite author has to be the King.
I love a good horror story once in a while. Usually I pick up Steven King or go to Poe who can always make my spine tingle.
ReplyDeleteGlad you won the award! Congratulations.
Congrats on your award! I love a horror story once in a while....just recently I re-read Dean Koontz's STRANGERS and it was fantastic again!
