Citrusy Blogging In Style

Wow - I'm blown away by all the blog love I've been getting lately! First off, Medeia Sharif gave me the Citrusy Blogger award. Thanks, Medeia!

I'd like to pass this award to:

Kristal at it's KRISTAL kLEEr

Dawn at Plotting and Scheming

Alison at Left-Brained by Day; Write Brained - All the Time

Regina at Unsettled

Amanda Valdez-Milner at Amanda's Twisted Truths

Brian at Brian's Home

Hema at Wading Through Words

Devin at Devin's Musings

Kristal at it's KRISTAL kLEEr, Dawn at Plotting and Scheming, Alison at Left-Brained by Day; Write Brained - All the Time, Regina at Unsettled, and Devin at Devin's Musings have bestowed the Stylish Blogger Award upon me - thanks guys!

I'm supposed to tell you seven things about myself, so here goes:

1. I attended Michigan State University. Any other Spartans out there? *waves*

2. I graduated with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, but I'm not telling you what year. :)

3. My last summer before graduating college, I did a summer internship at McDonnell Douglas Co. (now Boeing) in St. Louis.

4. That's where I met my husband. We were assigned to apartments with two other roommates. One of my roommates, Lorette, was friends with one of his roommates, Joe. Joe later married my third roommate, Lisa.

5. Other than those couple of months during our summer internships, my husband and I had a long distance relationship until we got married sixteen months later.

6. I first met my husband at a pool. Considering my skin is so fair I'm almost blinding in a swimsuit, that's about the last place I would have expected to meet my future husband. We stayed in the pool so long I got a bad sunburn, but it was worth it. :)

7. After getting my electrical engineering degree, I worked one year as an electrical engineer in Chicago and five years as a computer programmer before staying home to raise kids. That was fourteen years ago, and I've never looked back.

I'm supposed to pick fifteen people to pass this award to, but I wanted to give it to you all, so I decided I will! If you're reading this post, you are a treasured bloggy friend, and I'd like you to take this award as my way of thanking you for reading my blog, supporting me, and sharing this journey with me.
You guys are the best!

How about you? Where did you meet your significant other? Do you work in the same field you studied in school?

Happy Tuesday!

Congrats on the award!
My boyfriend's a civil engineer, and it seems like I know more engineers than any other occupation. I've had enough of hearing about concrete to last me a life time!

Congrats on the well-deserved awards. :) Thanks for passing one to me.

I like the seven items you shared! I'm blinding in a bathing suit too. Hee!

My background is elementary education, but it's not what I'm doing now: momming and writing (Momming should be a word, shouldn't it?)

Interesting where fate brings you!
I met my hubby at a college party. My friend was bringing me to meet his other friend to set us up, but I met him instead and here we are 18yrs later!
My degree is in elementary education. I stopped teaching to be a stay at home mom, but I substitute teach occasionally and volunteer enough in the school that I guess I still use the degree somehow!
Congrats on the awards!

Awards are sweet. Congratulations and you truly deserve it. (Love this blog!) Thanks for visiting my blog. Query letters are tough little buggers to make, but we should spend as much time crafting them as we do writing our manuscripts. After all, they're the first impression we make:P Good luck on yours-- I'm sure it's going to be smashing!

Love your romantic story about you and your husband. Wow, an electric engineering degree. I'm impressed.

Congrats on the award! And heeheeHEE, we do know how to do math, Susan, so if we add up the year after your graduation, then your 5 yrs as a computer programmer, then 14 years of staying home with your kids...well, you get the picture. LOL

No worries. I turned 50 last year (gah!) so I still think you're a young chicken. :)

Congratulations on your awards! That citrusy one is so cute.
I met my husband through a friend - and I kept saying I was too tired from work, and almost didn't go out that night!

Amanda Milner said...

Congrats on the awards! And thanks for passing one on to me. ☺
Electrical Engineer, wow, I'm impressed! I figured all writers were like me and sucked at techincal mathy things;) Haha! Ok, maybe I HOPED they were all like me. Lol!
I met my hubby through my roomate/co-worker. She's his step-sister and she wanted to set him up with my best friend. When she pointed him out to me I pretty much yelled out "dibs!" We were waitresses and he was sitting at a table in my section. My roomate/co-worker did not want her brother dating her roomate/co-worker aka me. I guess on account of the awkward factor. So to actually meet him I had to fight her off because she was physically holding me back! Lol! Going on 12 years this May. ☺

Congratulations on all the awards, Susan! I still can't picture you as an engineer...although your writing is very detailed, so maybe that makes sense. :)

Congrats on the award and thanks! I'm a Spartan (but from a different college :P)

Yay, I don't have to worry about being blindingly pale anymore! If you can catch someone I can too, haha :)

That is such a wonderful story about how you met your husband! I'm single and got a degree in Modern Languages, which I suppose I kind of use at work - I speak French to my Team Leader.

As Devin said, you give hope to those of us with nuclear white skin :D

*waves* I'm a Spartan!

Well, I'm actually a GVSU Laker, but I grew up next to MSU and my entire family, including my husband went there. I'm a Spartan in my heart <3

You'll be getting another Stylish Blogger award once my post is done being written :)
