Martin Luther King Day

WHAT I'M READING:
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson. I've seen both versions of the movie, so I decided it was about time I read the book. I'm enjoying it so far, but it's much longer than the YA I'm used to.

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK:

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday yesterday. In honor of the occasion, here are some quotes from Martin Luther King Jr.:

Image: digitalart / FreeDigitalPhotos.net

“I have a dream that one day little black boys and girls will be holding hands with little white boys and girls.”

“In the end, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends.”

“Never, never be afraid to do what's right, especially if the well-being of a person or animal is at stake. Society's punishments are small compared to the wounds we inflict on our soul when we look the other way.”

“Those who are not looking for happiness are the most likely to find it, because those who are searching forget that the surest way to be happy is to seek happiness for others.”

“Forgiveness is not an occasional act, it is a constant attitude.”

“No person has the right to rain on your dreams.”

“If I cannot do great things, I can do small things in a great way”

What an amazing man! Have a great week, everyone!

Wonderful quotes!

Dragon TAttoo is on my TBR list and I want to see the movie!. And I'm reading an adult novel now too, and it's funny that I'm used to flying through a book, but apparently books for adults are longer! :)

HAPPY MARTIN LUTHER KING DAY!!!

Lovely Susan. SNAP!!

I thought the first 20 pages of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo just plain HORRID but now that Lisbeth is introduced, the book is suddenly alive!!

NOW I'm totally loving it!

Fantastic quotes, Susan! Especially the one on forgiveness.

I did not like the book. It just wasn't my style. It kinda freaked me out, but I'm glad you are enjoying it. :-)

Smooches and hugs. Have a great day! :-)

Yes, an amazing man for sure. I especially like the quote about silent friends. He's right...

Those are definitely some great quotes. He said things in a very quotable and memorable way. I didn't know there were 2 versions of the DRAGON movie. I saw one and it was so brutal and stark I barely finished watching it. Not my cuppa tea, I guess!

Those are all still great quotes!

He was such an eloquent man.

So did you prefer one movie over the other? I've seen the Swedish version, but not the American...

Brilliant quotes!

I saw the US movie version of the book and have no intention of reading the book. I barely made it through the movie after that one scene, and I've heard it's worse in the book. :(

The "No person has a right to rain on your dreams," always makes me smile. Can I get a woot! woot!?

Such wonderful quotes.

I haven't read The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo yet. I've heard that the first 100 pages make the novel tough to get into, but after that the story is amazing. Happy reading!

Martin Luther King Jr was an amazing man! I watched a documentary about him once and was blown away. He had a strong and sincere faith, which aided him in his quest for equality. I was so inspired!

My friend and I were just talking about The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo the other day. She's reading it and I was saying I would like to read it. I heard it starts slow, but gets better. Is that what you found?

Amazing man and amazing quotes. Are you enjoying the book? I did not like it in the beginning, but glad I stuck it out because I loved it and read all of them and have seen both versions of the movie as well.
