The Home Stretch

WHAT I'M READING:
I just started Paranormalcy by Kiersten White, and I'm really enjoying it so far. This one has been on my TBR list for a while - I'm so glad it finally made it to the top of the list!

DON'T MISS:
The Tumble 4 Ya Blogfest on Friday! I'll be doing a special Friday post this week, and I can't wait to show off my 80's crush!

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK:
I WILL finish the first draft of my wip this week, even if it means letting my treadmill collect a little dust. I'm in the home stretch now - time for some marathon writing sessions! Okay, now that I've made my goal public, I have to do it, right? I'll let you know next week how it goes.

HOW ABOUT YOU:
Are you signed up for any blogfests? How's your writing coming?

Go for it, Susan! You can do it!

I'm participating in the Origins blogfest next Monday, and my writing is going ... meh. My WIP has some pacing problems, and I have no outline for the last 30% of the book. I know the ending, but not how to get there!

Sometimes when we're really in that zone, with the end in sight, the treadmill just has to patiently wait. When the writing calls ...

I usually don't do blogfests due to the nature of my site, but I do try to charm people and make them write about me in AZ CHALLANGES :))) Me is precious, how can you not write about me /blinksatyourwithangeliceyes/ :)

Yay! You are almost there!
You can do it!

I think I will sign up for the Tumble blogfest. Sounds fun!

Good to read about your goal for the week. Sending you lots and lots of happy writing thoughts and a few virtual homemade bagels, as well.

Boogie boogie.

I have decided that I am terrible at blogfests. I mix up the dates or I procrastinate.

Good luck with the first draft!!! You can do it! =D

I'm set for Friday's blogfest!

Yes! The WIP is waaaay more important than the treadmill! Let the dust come! ;)

Write, write, write! I'm doing the hop into reading blogfest on the 29th. :)

Good luck with the first draft! Keep up the great work:)

Hey Susan,

Yeah, let the treadmill sit for a few days and run to the finish line of WIP instead... :)

I'm also doing the '80s and Origins next Monday, so looking forward to those :)

I'm also going to hold my first Blog Hop "Got Green" on St. Patrick's Day, so will be teasing that Friday, too :)

GOOD LUCK with WIP :)

I'm all set for the Tumble 4 Ya Blogfest! It will have to share time with a WRiTE CLUB semi-final round, but I'll make it work!! :)

Hey - I'm just around the last bend before home stretch! And darn right, your goal is PUBLIC now, will be checking back next week (ha ha I'm not quite ready to go public yet! ;)

But I will see you at that Tumble 4 YA Blogfest. Now, to choose...

Good luck with your first draft! You can do it! :)

I've signed up for the Origins blogfest hosted by Alex J. Cavanaugh. I'd sign up for the Tumble 4 Ya Blogfest, but I don't know anything about the 80s.

PARANORMALCY is a fun read! Kiersten was the keynote at last year's Teen Author Boot Camp that I run with my writing group. She's fantastic!

I've been avoiding blogfests. They are really fun, but time-consuming. The writing comes first. And I've read and enjoyed PARANORMALCY! Have fun. :)

Congrats on almost finishing your first draft. I've just hit the half way point of mine.

I'm not a big blogfest fan, but I've managed to sign up for two next week. Eek!

I really enjoyed Paranormalcy!

I have one scene left to write. It's taking me forever.I have dubbed this manuscript "the one that does not want to end". LOL

Lydia Kang said...

I'm not doing any blogfests because I have a self-imposed writing deadline to deal with.

I still have to read Paranormalcy!

I signed up for plenty of blogfests. I'm trying to keep track of what's in my sidebar. :)

I loved Paranormalcy.

Happy writing.

Hiiii. I think I lost your blog for a long time. But I found it again now! I'm adding you to my blogroll :)

Re: Blogfests, yes, I have a nice list of them that I've signed up for (see my Blogfests+ page for more info).

As for my writing, I just got some awesome (in an "OMG I need to revise so badly now...") critique for my most polished novel...and I see a lot of work in my future. ARGH!

I would totally advocate the letting the treadmill gather dust, as I hate exercise! Finishing a first draft feels soooo great.
I read Paranormalcy shortly after it came out, overall I liked it but I felt the first two thirds or so were stronger than the rest.

Yay for finishing WIPs! And for gathering dust on treadmills! :)

I'm doing a Valentines blogfest over at Diane Estrella's blog. And trying to fit the Hop Into Reading one in also. But I need to write. Ack!

Paranormalcy is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!

P.S. I can't let my running (and elliptical)stop though. (The flab has gotten HUMONGOUS!) *sob*

A.L. Sonnichsen said...

I haven't read Paranormalcy yet. I think I'm going to wait (like I did for Hunger Games) until all the sequels are almost out, just in case I really enjoy it and want to keep reading. :)

I'm working on a revision right now and I'm hoping to be done this week, too. But we'll see. Right now I have it marked up like it's someone else's book and I need to go back and approve all my own changes. ha ha! :)

Best of luck meeting your goal!

Cynthia Chapman Willis said...

You can do it! And it sounds like you are very close.

No blogfests for me. I'm plodding toward my own goal, which means giving up the extras, like blogfests.

Happy writing!

Lynda R Young as Elle Cardy said...

Yeah, Paranormalcy has been on my list for a while too. I need to get onto it.

I had to laugh when I ran across your remark about making your goal public. NOT TWO MINUTES AGO I put a word count tracker thingy on my blog because I've got to finish my revision by the end of this month and I thought "okay, if I put this up there I'll work on it every day so my word count changes."

Hey, whatever works, right??

Best of luck on your WIP. GO YOU!
