Teaser Tuesday

Today I'm participating in Teaser Tuesday. This weekly meme is hosted by MizB at Should Be Reading.
The rules:
Grab your current read
Open to a random page
Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

My teaser is from page 83 of Where Are the Children? by Mary Higgins Clark.

"Hunching his shoulders inside his coat, the chief stamped his feet as the sleet melted into his shoes. He wondered if this was the spot from which Nancy Eldredge had dragged her kids into the water."

What are you reading right now? Care to share a teaser?

Mary Higgins Clark is awesome. Haven't read anything by her in a long time. I'm thinking I should pick up something new soon. Thanks for sharing.

Wow!! I've never read anything by Mary Higgins Clark - of course I've heard they're awesome books but now this little teaser pulled me in I'm running to my audiobook store!

These are always fun, getting a glimpse at what we're all reading. But unfortunately I'm not reading a book right now, as I continue with a revision ...

I'm currently reading and translating for the readers in my country A WEEK IN DECEMBER by Sebastian Folkes. And I don't like it so far :( British writers can often be self-absorbed and monotonous :(

That sounds pretty interesting, poor kids.

"The best myth is the "build your credit" myth. Bankers, car dealers, and unknowledgeable mortgage lenders have told America for years to build your credit. This myth means we have to get debt so we can get more debt because debt is how we get stuff. Those of us who have had a Total Money Makeover have found that cash buys stuff better than debt." ~ Dave Ramsey.

Hey! I know it's not exciting, but it was the book sitting next to me. :o) Thanks for sharing, Susan!!!

Thanks for the teaser! I can't believe I haven't read any Mary Higgins Clark, even though I grew up only minutes away from her house. (Plus, I hear she's an amazing writer.) Must pick up her books!

This is fun!

p. 138 from Cath Crowley's A LITTLE WANTING SONG:

"He turns over without answering. I feel like Luke and I are on an island that's sinking and there's nothing I can do to stop it."

Isn't that a grown up book????

Don't be all jealous, Susan...but I'm reading THE WHITE ASSASSIN. It's outstanding! Even better than NIGHTSHADE CITY. :D

Ooh, it's been ages since I read Mary Higgins Clark. Here's mine: "I didn't know which I was more afraid of. The idea of losing controls to the animal. Or the idea that I wouldn't be able to when I needed to most."
From Kait Nolan's Red.

From Jonathan Maberry's Dust and Decay (sequel to Rot and Ruin):

"Okay, I get the rhinoceros. Zoos and circuses and all. That one makes sense ... but what about the guy we found tied to the truck? Who was he and why was he fed to the zoms? And by whom? And worse ... why didn't he reanimate?"

An excellent choice for a teaser, as it really makes you wonder what will happen next! Thanks for reminding me that I need to catch up on some good reading. Julie

I don't think I've read anything by Mary Higgins Clark. Good sensory passage.

I'm not loving my current read, so I'm not going to share it. : (

I haven't read any Mary Higgins Clark, but I keep meaning to. Now that you've shared that great teaser, I'm more interested in reading one of her many novels.

I'd love to share a teaser from the novel I am reading, but there is a sleeping kitty on my lap and the novel is out of reach.

That's a good teaser! Yikes. Why did she drag her kids into the water?? I'm just finishing a Liz Curtis Higgs. I haven't read a Mary Higgins Clark. I'll need to look into this one!
